Retail sales increased NOK 15.3 billion

From 2005 to 2006, retail sales increased by NOK 15.3 billion. This is equivalent to an increase of 5.5 per cent.

In November and December (the sixth term) in 2006, the retail sales rose by 6.0 per cent or NOK 3.4 billion compared to the same period 2005.

Sales of motor vehicles increased by more than 20 per cent in November and December 2006 compared with the same period in 2005. From 2005 to 2006, the sales of motor vehicles rose by 9.7 per cent. Retail sales of automotive fuel, increased by 4.2 per cent in November and December and 7.5 per cent in 2006, compared with the same periods in 2005.

From 2005 to 2006, wholesalers in Norway increased by 10.7 per cent. In November and December the growth was 10.3 per cent compared to the same month in 2005.

The figures do not include value added tax.
