Sales of motor vehicles up 15 per cent

Sales of motor vehicles rose by NOK 10.2 billion, or 15.2 per cent, in the first ten months of 2004 compared with the same period in 2003.

Retail sales of automotive fuel rose by 6.8 per cent in this period. In September and October 2004 sales of motor vehicles and automotive fuel rose by 10.0 and 8.9 per cent respectively, compared with the same period in 2003.

Big increase for wholesalers

Sales by wholesalers increased by NOK 35.5 billion in the first ten months of 2004 compared with the first ten months of 2003. This is equivalent to an increase of 8.3 per cent. In September and October 2004 sales by wholesalers increased by 6.8 per cent compared with the same period in 2003.

Retail sales up NOK 10.4 billion

Retail sales - with the exception of motor vehicles and petrol - increased by NOK 10.4 billion in the first ten months of 2004 compared with the same period in 2003. This is equivalent to an increase of 5.2 per cent. Retail sales increased by NOK 1.3 billion, or 3.0 per cent, in September and October 2004 compared with September and October 2003.
