Higher turnover in hairdressing and other beauty treatment

In 2008, the local kind-of-activity units within hairdressing and other beauty treatment had a turnover of NOK 7.4 billion. This is an increase of 6.9 per cent compared to 2007.

The industry group consisted of 7 478 Local KAUs in 2008; an increase of 1.1 per cent compared to 2007. A total of 16 062 persons were employed, approximately the same as in 2007.

Washing and dry cleaning of textile and fur products

Turnover within this industry group increased by 7.2 per cent, to NOK. 2.1 billion. Employment rose to 2 777 persons; an increase of 2.4 per cent.

NOK 2.2 billion for repairs

The 1 380 local KAUs that operate within repair of computers and personal household goods had a turnover of NOK 2.2 billion in 2008. This is an increase of 4.7 per cent compared to 2007. The industry division employed 2 686 persons in 2008; an increase of 1.3 per cent compared to 2007.

Statistics on enterprise level

The structural business statistics for construction are compiled both at local KAU level and enterprise level. The figures at enterprise level may differ from figures at local KAU level. This is due to some enterprises being registered in one industry group according to main activity, while at the same time consisting of local KAUs in other groups.

Revision of industries

From January 2009, the enterprises in Statistic Norway’s Central Register of Establishments and Enterprises have been coded in accordance with the new Standard Industrial Classification (SIC 2007). The structural business statistics will be published in accordance with the new Standard Industrial Classification (SIC 2007) for the statistical year 2008. The figures for 2007 will also be published according to SIC 2007. Repair of computers and personal household goods now belong to the same industry group.
