Minor growth in alcohol sales
The registered turnover of alcoholic beverages was almost 1 per cent higher in the third quarter this year compared to the same period last year.

Registered turnover of wine, spirits and alcopops increased by 3.2, 0.8 and 3.6 per cent respectively compared to the third quarter of 2014. Turnover of beer, on the other hand, decreased by 1.7 per cent.
The turnover of wine increased by 564 000 litres, alcopops by 148 000 litres and spirits by 21 000 litres from the third quarter of 2014 to the third quarter of 2015. Registered turnover of beer decreased by more than 1 million litres. In total, the registered turnover was 18.3 million litres of wine, 64.5 million litres of beer, 2.7 million litres of spirits and 4.2 million litres of alcopops for the third quarter this year.
Decline in amount of pure alcohol
Total registered turnover of pure alcohol was 18.2 litres for the first nine month this year. This is a decrease of 183 000 litres or 1.0 per cent compared to the same period in 2014. The total turnover breaks down to 8.1 million litres of pure alcohol for beer, 6.7 million litres of pure alcohol for wine, 2.9 million litres of pure alcohol for spirits and 500 000 litres of pure alcohol for alcopops.
Alcohol consumption per capita
The registered turnover in Norway in the first nine months of 2015 was 4.3 litres of pure alcohol per capita. The corresponding figure for 2014 was 4.4 litres; a decrease of more than 2 per cent.
