Strengthened growth in retail sales

The seasonally-adjusted volume index of retail sales increased by 1.3 per cent from April to May 2017. This follows weak growth in the two preceding months.

The long-term trend in retail sales shows a slight increase from the summer last year, but strengthened growth now contributes to a slightly stronger trend.
