There was considerable variation in the Norwegian Balance of goods and services and the Balance of income and current transfers with EU countries. Although the Balance of goods was high towards the EU as a whole, there were still countries with which Norway had a negative Balance of goods. With regard to services, the situation was the other way round.

Of the countries within the EU, Norway had the strongest Balance of income and current transfers with the UK, with almost NOK 71 billion, while the weakest was with Sweden, which had a net income of about NOK 31 billion towards Norway in 2014. The largest proportions of the Norwegian Current account balance were earned from the UK, Germany, Netherlands and France.
