Salmon export prices rise to all time high

In the period from 21 December – 27 December the export price of fresh salmon came to NOK 53.26 per kilo. This is an increase of 3.8 per cent compared to the previous seven-day period and the highest measured export price for whole fresh salmon.

The export quantity of fresh salmon was 10 494 tonnes in the period 21 December – 27 December, down 48.1 per cent compared to the period 14 December – 20 December and 2 189 tonnes more than in the same week last year. Note that weeks including Christmas and New Year normally show low export volumes.

 

Norway exported 134 tonnes of frozen salmon at NOK 42.01 per kilo in the period 21 December – 27 December.
