Decline in export prices of fresh salmon

In the period from 7 January to 13 January, the export price of fresh salmon came to NOK 33.35 per kilo. This is a decrease of 0.7 per cent from the previous seven-day period.

The export quantity of fresh salmon was 15 684 tonnes in the period from 7 January to 13 January, an increase of 51.3 per cent from the period 31 December to 6 January. Note that weeks which include Christmas and New Year normally show low export volumes.

Norway exported 553 tonnes of frozen salmon at NOK 30.22 per kilo in the period from 7 January to 13 January.

Due to changes in the Norwegian customs nomenclature 2012 the selected commodity numbers for fresh salmon are 03.02.1411 and 03.02.1419 and frozen salmon 03.03.1311 and 03.03.1319. In 2011 the commodity numbers were 03.02.1201, 03.02.1202, 03.03.2201 and 03.03.2202.
