Increase in export prices of fresh salmon

In the period from 24 December to 30 December, the export price of fresh salmon came to NOK 33.11 per kilo. This is an increase of 12 per cent from the previous seven-day period.

The export quantity of fresh salmon was 7 356 tonnes in the period from 24 December to 30 December, a decrease of 68.3 per cent from the period 17 December to 23 December. Note that weeks which include Christmas and New Year normally show low export volumes.

Norway exported 158 tonnes of frozen salmon at NOK 29.81 per kilo in the period from 24 December to 30 December.

Due to changes in the Norwegian customs nomenclature 2012 the selected commodity numbers for fresh salmon are 03.02.1411 and 03.02.1419 and frozen salmon 03.03.1311 and 03.03.1319. In 2011 the commodity numbers were 03.02.1201, 03.02.1202, 03.03.2201 and 03.03.2202.
