Decline in export prices of fresh salmon

In the period from 2 January to 8 January, the export price of fresh salmon came to NOK 25.65 per kilo. This is a decrease of 2.8 per cent from the previous seven-day period.

The export quantity of fresh salmon was 11 785 tonnes in the period from 2 January to 8 January, an increase of 21.2 per cent from the period 26 December to 1 January. Note that weeks which include Christmas and New Year normally show low export volumes.

Norway exported 483 tonnes of frozen salmon at NOK 30.21 per kilo in the period from 2 January to 8 January.

Due to changes in the Norwegian customs nomenclature 2012 the selected commodity numbers for fresh salmon are 03.02.1411 and 03.02.1419 and frozen salmon 03.03.1311 and 03.03.1319. In 2011 the commodity numbers were 03.02.1201, 03.02.1202, 03.03.2201 and 03.03.2202.
