Decline in export prices of fresh salmon

In the period from 2 April to 8 April, the export price of fresh salmon came to NOK 29.61 per kilo. This is an increase of 11.1 per cent from the previous seven-day period.

The export quantity of fresh salmon was 9 286 tonnes in the period from 2 April to 8 April, a decrease of 49.4 per cent from the period 26 March to 1 April. Like in previous years, the salmon export was low in Easter.

Norway exported 507 tonnes of frozen salmon at NOK 29.12 per kilo in the period from 2 April to 8 April.

Due to changes in the Norwegian customs nomenclature 2012 the selected commodity numbers for fresh salmon are 03.02.1411 and 03.02.1419 and frozen salmon 03.03.1311 and 03.03.1319. In 2011 the commodity numbers were 03.02.1201, 03.02.1202, 03.03.2201 and 03.03.2202.
