Norwegians aged 16-79 took 4.5 million inbound trips with at least one overnight stay during the 3rd quarter of 2016; an increase of 8 per cent compared with the 3rd quarter of 2015.

Calculation of sample uncertainty in 3rd quarterOpen and readClose

The travel survey is carried out among 2 000 Norwegians between 16 and 79 years of age. A new sample is drawn every quarter.

The uncertainty calculated with 95 per cent certainty for the 3rd quarter of 2016 is:

  • Number of trips: Published value NOK 7.2 million. Interval: NOK 6.7 million to 7.7 million
  • Guest nights: Published NOK 45.5 million. Interval: NOK 44.5 million to 46.5 million
  • Tourist expenditure: Published value NOK 57.9 billion. Interval: NOK 53.4 billion to NOK 62.5 billion
