Increase in travel abroad
Norwegians aged 16-79 took 7.8 million trips abroad with at least one overnight stay during 2008; an increase of 10 per cent compared with 2007. The number of overnight stays on outbound trips increased by 8 per cent by comparison.
With regard to the 4th quarter, there has been a decrease both in the number of outbound trips (5 per cent) and the overnight stays on these trips (9 per cent).
