Decrease for intermediaries of huts

A total of 214 000 overnight stays in private cabins in were arranged by Norwegian and foreign intermediaries of huts in January and February 2003, a decrease of 13 per cent compared with the corresponding months 2002. The foreign business decreased by 12 per cent, and the domestic business decreased by 17 per cent.

Denmark which is the largest winter-market with a market portion of 65 per cent, increased by 1.1 per cent compared with January and February 2002. The two other large markets, Germany and Sweden, decreased.

Decrease both in January and February

The intermediaries of huts arranged a total of 92 000 overnights stays in January, a decrease of 10 per cent compared with January 2002. The corresponding figures for February 2003 was 122 000 overnights stays and a decrease of 16 per cent.
