In 2008 Norwegian intermediaries of huts arranged a total of 1.2 millions overnight stays in private cabins in Norway. This is an increase of 9 per cent compared with revised comparable figures for 2007.

The number of domestic guest nights increased by 26 per cent, and the number of inbound guest nights increased by 4 per cent.

In previous years, there have been problems with non-response for some of the foreign intermediaries. They can not be instructed to respond after the Norwegian Statistics of Act. In order to be able to publish statistics on a more regular basis, the foreign intermediaries are excluded from the scope. Focus is now on intermediaries having activity in Norway.

In the attached tables, the 2006-figures are doubled. There are figures that are comparable with the published 2007-figures, as well as figures that are comparable with figures from 2005 and earlier.
