54 million airport passengers

Norwegian airports saw a total of 54 million passengers departing and arriving in 2013. This is 2.4 million, or 4.7 per cent, more than in 2012.

Among the airport passengers there were 6.5 million1 transfer passengers  in 2013, up from 6.9 million1 in 2012, representing a drop of 4.9 per cent. Passengers in transit fell by 4.4 per cent and ended at 807 000 in 2013. Along with a drop in transfer and transit came an increase in international traffic at airports outside of Oslo. The airports of Bergen, Stavanger and Ålesund saw increased international traffic of 323 000, 246 000 and 115 000 passengers respectively.

Most of the growth in international traffic

In 2012 there were 19.9 million passengers on board international flights. With a corresponding figure in 2013 of 21.8 million, the annual growth was almost 10 per cent. On domestic flights there were 15.9 million passengers in 2012 and 16.1 million in 2013; a growth rate slightly below 2 per cent.
