Bergen second largest airport

Of 12.5 million airport passengers in the 3rd quarter of 2010, Oslo Airport represented 44 per cent of total traffic with 5.5 million passengers. Bergen Flesland had 12 per cent, while Stavanger Sola and Trondheim Værnes both had 7 per cent of total traffic. The four largest airports thus had around 70 per cent of total airport traffic in the 3rd quarter of 2010.

Scheduled passenger transport dominates

Commercial traffic at airports is classified by type of aircraft and the regularity of flights. Scheduled passenger flights carried 11.6 out of the 12.5 million passengers in the 3rd quarter of 2010. Non-scheduled passenger flights carried 0.9 million passengers, while remaining passengers were found on freight flights, helicopters, and smaller aircrafts.

Oslo Airport Gardermoen dominates international traffic

In the 3rd quarter of 2010 there were 3.6 million passengers on domestic flights, while international flights had 5.3 million passengers. Not surprisingly, Oslo Airport Gardermoen dominates with 3.1 million1 international passengers. Goods to and from Norway totalled about 10 800 tonnes in the 3rd quarter of 2010 while domestic transport was 3 300 tonnes. Oslo Airport Gardermoen handled most of the international traffic.

Every third seat empty between Oslo and Trondheim

In the 3rd quarter of 2010 there were 1 800 departures with 276 000 seats from Trondheim to Oslo. The aircrafts carried 188 000 passengers making every third seat vacant.

Passengers

Airport passengers is the sum of passengers carried at arrival and passengers carried at departure. Aircraft passengers is found by adjusting for double counting on domestic flights.
