Decline in earnings

The taxi industry’s transport activity declined in the 1st quarter of 2014, leading to a decline in earnings of 0.6 per cent compared to the same quarter in 2013.

The industry carried out a total of 7.9 million taxi trips in the 1st quarter of 2014, which amounted to NOK 2.1 billion. This was 5.3 and 4.6 per cent fewer trips than the same quarter in 2013 and 2012 respectively.

Total distance covered as well as distance driven with passengers in the car also declined during the period. A total of 55.2 per cent of the total mileage was covered with passengers in the car.
