The industry had a total turnover of NOK 8.8 billion in 2013; a 3.6 per cent increase from 2012, despite low transport activity. The increase in turnover is mainly attributable to the increment in taxi fares during the period. The taxi industry covered a total distance of 587 million kilometres in 2013; a 1.7 per cent increase from 2012. 54.4 per cent of the total mileage was covered with passengers in the car.
