Decreased harmonized indices

The harmonized indices of consumer prices (HICP) for Norway went down with 0. 3 per cent (temporarily figures) from June to July 1999. The decrease is due to clothing sales, reduced tariff on electricity, telephone services and hotel stays. On the other side the price of gasoline increased.

The HICP for July 1999 was 105.6 (1996=100) and the year to Year growth in July was 1.7 per cent. In June the Year to year growth was 2.1 per cent for Norway and 1.0 per cent for the EEA.
