Unchanged HICP

The harmonized index of consumer prices (HICP) for Norway stayed unchanged from March to April 2008. Prices on food together with clothing and footwear increased. The prices of electricity were the main negative contributor.

Harmonized index of consumer prices

The HICP for Norway was 105.8 (2005=100) in April 2008, compared with 103.0 in April 2007. The year-to-year growth was 2.7 per cent in April, compared with 2.8 per cent in March. See the consumer price index for more details.

EØS, EU og Euro area

The HICP for the EU and the EEA was 107.6 in February, compared with 107.2 in the Euro area. The year-to-year growth in February was 3.8 and 3.7 per cent for the EU and the EEA respectively, and 3.6 per cent for the Euro area. Eurostat's flash estimate for the year-to-year growth in the HICP for the Euro area was 3.3 per cent for April 2008.
