Marginal decrease in HICP

The Harmonized Index of Consumer Prices (HICP) for Norway fell by 0.1 per cent from May to June 2007. The fall was mainly due to price decreases for clothing and footwear.

Harmonized Index of Consumer Prices

The HICP for Norway was 103.1 (2005=100) in June 2007, compared with 102.4 in June last year. The year-to-year growth for HICP in June was 0.7 per cent, up from 0.6 per cent in May 2007. See the consumer price index for more details.

EEA, EU and euro-area

The HICP for EEA and the euro-area stood at 104.6 and 104.4, respectively in May 2007. The year-to-year growth was 2.1 per cent for EEA and EU, while the euro-area had a growth of 1.9 per cent. Eurostat's flash estimate for the year-to-year growth in the HICP for the euro-area is 1.9 per cent for June 2007.
