Unchanged HICP

The Harmonized Index of Consumer Prices (HICP) for Norway stayed unchanged from September to October 2006. The prices of clothing and footwear increased whereas prices of petrol and tariffs of electricity were the main negative contributor.

Harmonized Index of Consumer Prices

The HICP for Norway was 103.8 (2005=100) in October 2006, compared with 100.8 in October 2005. The year-to-year growth for HICP in October was 3.0 per cent, unchanged from September 2006. See the Consumer Price Index for more details.

EEA, EU and euro-zone

The HICP for EEA and the euro-zone stood at 102.6 and 102.5, respectively in September 2006. The year-to-year growth was 1.9 per cent for EEA, EU, while the euro-zone had a growth of 1.7 per cent. Eurostat's flash estimate for the year-to-year growth in the HICP for the euro-zone is 1.6 per cent for October 2006.
