HICP up 1.9 per cent last 12 months

The Harmonized Index of Consumer Prices (HICP) for Norway remained unchanged from September to October 2005. The prices of petrol and electricity had a modest drop, while prices of clothing and restaurants and hotels had a small increase last month.

The HICP for Norway stood at 119.6 (1996=100) in October 2005, compared with 117.4 in October last year. The year-to-year growth for HICP in October was 1.9 per cent, down by 0.2 percentage points from September. See the Consumer Price Index for more details.

Harmonized Index of Consumer Prices

EEA, EU and euro-zone

The HICP for EEA and the euro-zone stood at 118.6 and 119.1, respectively in September 2005. The year-to-year growth was 2.5 per cent for EEA and 2.6 per cent for the euro-zone, up by 0.3 and 0.4 percentage points from August. Eurostat's flash estimate for the year-to-year growth in the HICP for the euro-zone is 2.5 per cent for October 2005.
