HICP down 0.3 per cent

The Harmonized Index of Consumer Prices (HICP) for Norway decreased by 0.3 per cent from June to July 2005. The most important factor behind the decrease was the summer sale of clothing and footwear.

The HICP for Norway stood at 118.5 (1996=100) in July 2005, compared with 116.9 in July last year. The year-to-year growth in July was 1.4 per cent, down by 0.2 percentage points from June.

Harmonized Index of Consumer Prices

EEA, EU and euro-zone

The HICP for EEA and the euro-zone stood at 117.9 and 118.3, respectively in June 2005. The HICP year-to-year growth for EEA was 2.0 per cent in June, the same as in May 2005. HICP year-to-year growth for euro-zone was 2.1 per cent in June, up by 0.1 percentage point from May. Eurostat's flash estimate for the year-to-year growth in the euro-zone is 2.2 per cent for July 2005.
