HICP up 0.2 per cent

The Harmonized Index of Consumer Prices (HICP) for Norway increased by 0.2 per cent from Mai to June 2005. Important factors behind the growth were increases in electricity and food prices.

The HICP for Norway stood at 118.9 (1996=100) in June 2005, compared with 117.0 in June last year. The year-to-year growth in June was 1.6 per cent, up 0.1 percentage point from May. See the Consumer Price Index for more details.

EEA, EU and euro-zone

The HICP for EEA and the euro-zone stood at 117.7 and 118.1, respectively in May 2005. The year-to-year growth was 1.9 per cent for both, down 0.2 percentage points from April. Eurostat's flash estimate for the year-to-year growth in the euro-zone is 2.1 per cent for June 2005.
