Harmonized index up 0.5 per cent

The Harmonized Index of Consumer Prices (HICP) for Norway increased by 0.5 per cent from March to April 2005. Petrol and clothing were two main contributors to the increase.

The HICP for Norway stood at 118.3 (1996=100) in April 2005 compared with 116.9 in April last year. The year-to-year growth in April was 1.2 per cent, up 0.3 percentage points from March.

Harmonized Index of Consumer Prices

EEA, EU and euro-zone

The year-to-year growth in the HICP for the EEA was 2.0 per cent in March 2005. The growth in the EU and the euro-zone was 2.1 per cent in the same period. Eurostat's flash estimate for the year-to-year growth in the euro-zone is 2.1 per cent for April 2005.
