EEA consumer prices up 2.1 per cent

The harmonized index of consumer prices (HICP) for the EEA was 116.3 (1996=100) in February. The year-to-year change in February was 2.1 per cent in the EEA. In comparison, the HICP for Norway increased by 0.9 per cent in the same period.

The HICP in the euro-zone was 116.6 in February, and the year-to-year change was 2.1 per cent. In advance, Eurostat estimated the growth from February 2004 to February 2005 in the euro-zone to be 2.0 per cent.

For Norway the HICP was 117.1 in February, a 0.1 per cent increase from January 2005. From February 2004 to February 2005 the HICP increased by 0.9 per cent.
