Harmonized index up 0.1 per cent

The Harmonized Index of Consumer Prices (HICP) for Norway increased by 0.1 per cent from January to February 2005. The increase is mainly due to price increases of furniture, food and petrol.

The HICP for Norway stood at 117.1 (1996=100) in February 2005 compared with 116.1 in February last year. As in January, the year-to-year growth in February was 0.9 per cent.

Harmonized Index of Consumer Prices

EEA, EU and euro-zone

The year-to-year growth in the HICP for the EU and the EEA was 2.0 per cent in January 2005. The increase in the euro-zone was 1.9 per cent in the same period. Eurostat's flash estimate for the year-to-year growth in the HICP in the euro-zone is 2.0 per cent for February 2005.
