EEA consumer prices up 2.0 per cent

The harmonized index of consumer prices (HICP) for the EEA was 115.7 (1996=100) in September. The year-to-year change in September was 2.0 per cent in the EEA. In comparison, the HICP for Norway increased by 1.1 per cent in the same period.

The HICP in the euro-zone was 116.1 in September, and the year-to-year change was 2.1 per cent. In advance, Eurostat estimated the growth from September 2003 to September 2004 in the euro-zone to 2.2 per cent.

For Norway the HICP was 117.1 in September, up 0.4 per cent from August. From September 2003 to September 2004 the consumer prices increased by 1.1 per cent, the same as in August.
