EEA consumer prices up 1.5 per cent

The harmonized index of consumer prices (HICP) for the EEA was 113.9 (1996=100) in Febraury. The year-to-year change in February was 1.5 per cent in the EEA. In comparison, the HICP for Norway fell by 1.5 per cent in the same period.

The HICP in the Euro-zone was 114.2 in February. In advance, Eurostat estimated the year-to-year growth in February in the Euro-zone to 1.6 per cent, which turned out to be the actual price growth.

For Norway the HICP was 116.1 in February, up 0.2 per cent from January. From February 2003 to February 2004 the consumer prices fell by 1.5 per cent, down from a decrease of 1.4 per cent in January.
