EEA consumer prices up 1.9 per cent

The provisional harmonized index of consumer prices (HICP) for the EEA was 113.4 (1996=100) in September. The year-to-year change in the EEA was 1.9 per cent in September, the same as in Norway.

The provisional HICP in the Euro-zone was 113.6 in September. The year-to-year growth in September was 2.1 per cent, the same as in August.

For Norway the HICP was 116.3 in September, up 0.6 per cent from August. From September 2002 to September 2003 the consumer prices rose by 1.9 per cent, down from 2.0 per cent in August.

Due to an error in the consumer price index in the Netherlands, the numbers for the EEA, EU, Euro-zone and the Netherlands are provisional from June 2002.
