EEA consumer prices up 1.8 per cent

The harmonized index of consumer prices (HICP) for the EEA was 113.0 (1996=100) in May. The year-to-year change in the EEA was 1.8 per cent in May, the same as in Norway.

The HICP in the Euro-zone was 113.2 in May. The year-to-year growth in May was 1.9 per cent, down from 2.1 per cent in April.

For Norway the HICP was 115.8 in May, down 0.5 per cent from April. From May 2002 to May 2003 the consumer prices rose by 1.8 per cent, down from 2.5 per cent in April.
