Prices in EEA up 1.6 per cent

The consumer prices in the EEA increased by 1.6 per cent from June 2001 to June 2002, compared to 1.8 per cent in May. The harmonized index of consumer prices (HICP) was 111.3 in June (1996=100), unchanged from May.

The HICP for the Euro-zone was 111.5 in June, the same as in May. The year-to-year growth in June was 1.8 per cent, down from 2.0 per cent in May.

For Norway the HICP in June was 113.8, unchanged from May. The year-to-year change in the consumer prices declined by 0.4 per cent in June.
