Year-to-year change of 2.2 per cent

The harmonized index of consumer prices (HICP) for the EEA was 111.2 (1996=100) in April, an increase of 0.5 per cent from March. From April 2001 to April 2002 the HICP was 2.2 per cent, compared to 2.3 per cent in March.

The EEA and EU indices in April do not contain numbers from the United Kingdom.

The HICP for the Euro-zone was 111.4 in April, up 0.5 per cent from March. The year-to-year growth in April was 2.4 per cent, down from 2.5 per cent in March.

For Norway the HICP in April was 113.6, the same as in March. The year-to-year change in the consumer prices declined by 0.1 per cent in April, compared with an increase of 0.4 per cent in March.
