Increase in EEA consumer prices

The harmonized index of consumer prices (HICP) for the EEA was 109.7 (1996=100) in December, an increase of 0.2 per cent from November. From December 2000 to December 2001 the HICP increased by 2.0 per cent. The year-to-year growth in November was 1.8 per cent.

The HICP for the Euro-zone was 109.7 in December, up by 0.2 per cent from November. The year-to-year growth in December was 2.1 per cent.

For Norway the HICP in December was 112.8, up by 0.1 per cent from November. The year-to-year change in the consumer prices rose from 1.3 per cent in November to 1.6 per cent in December.
