EEA consumer prices up 2.4 per cent

The harmonized index of consumer prices (HICP) for the EEA was 109.7 (1996=100) in September, an increase of 0.3 per cent from August. From September 2000 to September 2001 the HICP increased by 2.4 per cent. The year to year growth in August was 2.6 per cent.

The HICP for the European Monetary Union was 109.7 in September, up by 0.3 per cent from August. The year to year growth in September was 2.5 per cent.

For Norway the HICP in September was 112.8, up by 0.6 per cent from August. From September last year the consumer prices have increased by 1.9 per cent.
