EEA consumer prices up 2.6 per cent

The harmonized index of consumer prices (HICP) for the EEA was 108.8 (1996=100) in April, an increase of 0.5 per cent from March. From April 2000 to April 2001 the HICP increased by 2.6 per cent. The year to year growth in March was 2.3 per cent.

The HICP for the European Monetary Union was 108.8 in April, up 0.5 per cent from March. The year to year growth in April was 2.9 per cent.

For Norway the HICP in April was 113.7, an increase of 0.5 per cent from March. From April last year the prices have increased by 3.6 per cent.
