EEA consumer prices up 2.3 per cent

The harmonized index of consumer prices (HICP) for the EEA was 108.3 (1996=100) in March, an increase of 0.4 per cent from February. From March 2000 to March 2001 the HICP increased by 2.3 per cent. The year to year growth in February was also 2.3 per cent.

The HICP for the European Monetary Union was 108.3 in March, up 0.4 per cent from February. The year to year growth in March was 2.3 per cent.

For Norway the HICP in March was 113.1, an increase of 0.3 per cent from February. From March last year the prices have increased by 3.5 per cent.
