EEA consumer prices up 2.3 per cent

The harmonized index of consumer prices (HICP) for the EEA was 107.9 (1996=100) in February, an increase of 0.6 per cent from January. From February 2000 to February 2001 the HICP increased by 2.3 per cent. The year to year growth in January was 2.2 per cent.

The HICP for the European Monetary Union was 107.9 in February, up 0.6 per cent from January. The year to year growth in February was 2.6 per cent.

For Norway the HICP in February was 112.8, an increase of 0.9 per cent from January. From February last year the prices have increased by 3.5 per cent.
