EEA consumer prices up 2.3 per cent

The harmonized index of consumer prices (HICP) for the EEA was 107.6 (1996=100) in December, an increase of 0.1 per cent from November. From December 1999 to December 2000 the HICP increased by 2.3 per cent. The year to year growth in November was 2.6 per cent.

The HICP for the European Monetary Union was 107.4 in December, up 0.1 per cent from November. The year to year growth in December was 2.6 per cent.

For Norway the HICP in December was 111,0, a decrease of 0.2 per cent from November. From December last year the prices have increased by 2.7 per cent.
