EEA consumer prices up 2.4 per cent

The harmonized index of consumer prices (HICP) for the EEA was 107.2 (1996=100) in October, the same as in September. From October 1999 to October 2000 the HICP increased by 2.4 per cent. The year to year growth in September was 2.5 per cent.

The HICP for the European Monetary Union was 107.0 in October, the same as in September. The year to year growth in October was 2.7 per cent.

For Norway the HICP in October was 110.8, an increase of 0.1 per cent from September. From October last year the prices have increased by 3.1 per cent.
