EEA consumer prices up 2.5 per cent

The harmonized index of consumer prices (HICP) for the EEA was 107.2 (1996=100) in September, an increase of 0.6 per cent from August. From September 1999 to September 2000 the HICP increased by 2.5 per cent. The year to year growth in August was 2.0 per cent.

The HICP for the European Monetary Union was 107.0 in September, up 0.5 per cent from August. The year to year growth in September was 2.8 per cent.

For Norway the HICP in September was 110.7, an increase of 0.9 per cent from August. From September last year the prices have increased by 3.6 per cent.
