EEA consumer prices up 2.2 per cent

The harmonized index of consumer prices (HICP) for the EEA was 106.6 (1996=100) in July, the same as in June. From July 1999 to July 2000 the HICP increased by 2.2 per cent. The year to year growth in June was 2.1 per cent.

The HICP for the European Monetary Union was 106.5 in July, up 0.2 per cent from June. The year to year growth in June was 2.4 per cent.

For Norway the HICP in July was 110.1, a decrease of 0.4 per cent from June. From July last year the prices have increased by 3.4 per cent.
