EEA consumer prices unchanged

The harmonised index of consumer prices (HICP) for the EEA was 106.1 (1996=100) in May, an increase of 0.1 per cent from April. From May 1999 to May 2000 the HICP increased by 1.7 per cent, the same as in April.

The HICP for the European Monetary Union was 105.8 in May, up 0.1 per cent from April. The year to year growth in May was 1.9 per cent.

For Norway the HICP in May was 109.8, an increase of 0.1 per cent from April. From May last year the prices have increased by 2.9 per cent.
