Wholesale prices decreased 1 per cent

Wholesale prices decreased by 1.0 per cent from the 1st quarter to the 2nd quarter of 2014 but are 3.8 per cent higher than the same quarter last year.

Food, beverages and tobacco decreased by 1.5 per cent from the 1st to the 2nd quarter of 2014 but increased by 4.1 per cent last year and accounts for 30 per cent of turnover within the wholesale trade.

Solid, liquid and gaseous fuels decreased by 3.8 per cent last quarter, but increased by 7.1 per cent last year, and accounts for 16 per cent of turnover within the wholesale trade.
