Wholesale prices up 1.4 per cent

Wholesale prices increased by 1.4 per cent from the2nd quarter to the 3rd quarter of 2013, and are 0.9 per cent higher than the same quarter last year.

Food, beverages and tobacco increased by 0.5 per cent from the 2nd to the 3rd quarter of 2013, but increased by 5.0 per cent last year and account for 30 per cent of turnover within the wholesale trade.

Prices of solid, liquid and gaseous fuels and related products increased by 5.4 per cent last quarter, but were still 4.4 per cent lower than the same quarter last year. Prices of electrical household appliances decreased by 1.4 per cent during the last quarter.
