Higher wages behind rise in plumbing costs

The construction costs of plumbing works in office and commercial buildings rose by 1.2 per cent from October to November. Increased labour costs were the main reason behind the increase.

Construction cost index for plumbing works in office and commercial buildings. 2000=100

Labour costs rose by 3.6 per cent from October to November, while material costs remained unchanged.

The construction costs of plumbing works in office and commercial buildings increased by 5.2 per cent from November 2006 to November 2007.
