Construction costs up 3.5 per cent

The construction costs of residential buildings increased by 3.5 per cent from December 2010 to December 2011. The material costs rose by 4.0 per cent in the same period.

From December 2010 to December 2011, the construction costs of detached houses of wood and multi-dwelling houses increased by 3.5 and 3.7 per cent respectively. The material costs rose by 3.8 and 4.8 per cent in the same period.

The construction costs of detached houses of wood remained unchanged from November to December last year. The costs of multi-dwelling houses rose by 0.1 per cent in the same period.
