Stable construction costs

The construction cost index for residential buildings remained unchanged from April to May this year. From May 2008 to May 2009 the costs rose by 2.2 per cent. The labour cost rose by 0.5 per cent and the material costs decreased by 0.4 per cent in the same period.

Both the construction cost of multi-dwelling houses and detached houses of wood increased by 2.2 per cent from May 2008 to May 2009. The material costs of multi-dwelling houses rose by 0.7 per cent, while detached houses of wood increased by 0.4 per cent in the same period.
